Revelation 3
“And to the messenger of the congregation in Sardis write: These things says he who has the seven spirits of God, and the seven stars. I know your works, that you have a reputation that you are alive, but you are dead.
Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die, for I have not found your works completed in the sight of my God.
Remember, then, what you have received and heard, and keep it, and repent. If therefore you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will absolutely not know what hour I will come against you.
But you have a few names in Sardis that did not defile their clothes, and they will walk with me dressed in white, because they are worthy.
Whoever overcomes will also be dressed in white robes, and I will never wipe his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name in the presence of my Father and in the presence of his angels.
Anyone who has an ear had better listen to what the Spirit says to the congregations!
“And to the messenger of the congregation in Philadelphia write: These things says he who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens.
I know your works (Look! I have set before you a door that has been opened, which no one is able to shut), that you have little power, and yet kept my word, and did not deny my name.
Look, I will make those of the synagogue of the Adversary, who say they are Jews, and are not, but are lying…. Look, I will make them come and bow down at your feet and know that I have loved you.
Because you kept my word regarding endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that is about to come upon the whole inhabited world, to test those who live on the earth.
I am coming quickly. Hold on firmly to what you have, so that no one takes your crown.
Whoever overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and he will absolutely not go out from there anymore, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God (the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God), and my own new name.
Anyone who has an ear had better listen to what the Spirit says to the congregations!
“And to the messenger of the congregation in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of the creation of God.
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were either cold or hot.
So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth,
because you say, ‘I am rich, and have acquired riches, and have need of nothing,’ and yet do not know that you are the wretched one, and pitiful, and poor, and blind, and naked.
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you will be rich, and white robes so that you can clothe yourself, and the shame of your nakedness is not revealed, and eye ointment to anoint your eyes, so that you can see.
As many as are my friends, I reprove and discipline, therefore be zealous, and repent.
Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he with me.
Whoever overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Anyone who has an ear had better listen to what the Spirit says to the congregations!”
