John 2
And on the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus had been invited to the wedding, and also his disciples.
And when the wine began to run out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”
And Jesus said to her, “Dear woman, what does your concern have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
Now there were six stone water jars standing there that were used for the ceremonial cleansing of the Jews, each containing 20 or 30 gallons.
Jesus said to them, “Fill the water jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim.
And he said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” And they took it.
And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know where it was from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the groom
and said to him, “Everyone sets out the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then that which is inferior, but you have kept the good wine until now.”
This is the beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples. And they stayed there for a few days.
And the Passover of the Jews was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
And he found in the temple those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the coin dealers were sitting there.
And he made a whip out of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, also the sheep and the oxen, and he poured out the moneychangers’ coins, and overturned their tables.
And to those selling doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Stop making my Father’s house a house of merchandise!”
(His disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house will consume me).
So the Jews answered and said to him, “What sign of your authority can you show to us, since you are doing these things?”
Jesus answered and said to them, “If you destroy this temple, I will raise it up in three days.”
The Jews then said, “It has taken 46 years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?”
But he was speaking about the temple of his body.
Now when he was raised from among the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name because they saw his signs that he was doing.
But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all people,
and because he did not need anyone to testify about people, for he himself knew what was in people.
